MessyWeekend X Kickstarter
We've done it before, and now we're doing it again. We're doing a so-called Kickstarter campaign and launching new awesome products at a great early bird price.
If you haven't heard of Kickstarter before, it's fitting that we tell you about it now.
What is the idea behind Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a non-profit organization whose purpose and mission is to help all kinds of entrepreneurs and projects grow and prosper through crowdfunding.
Kickstarter started in 2009, and today embraces a global network of creative projects, with 10 million people worldwide having already backed a Kickstarter project.
“Kickstarter helps artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and other creative creators find the resources and support they need to make their ideas a reality. To date, thousands of creative projects, large and small, have come to life with the help of the Kickstarter community.” - Kickstarter.com.
Kickstarter has so far:
• 17 million people have started a project on Kickstarter.com
• $4.6 billion has been donated to fund projects
• 171046 projects have been successfully funded through Kickstarter.
Okay, nice. But how does it work?
The Kickstarter model involves an entrepreneur registering and presenting their idea for a Kickstarter project on the website.
The presentation should include a video and a description of the project idea and the story behind the project. Interested investors or future customers can sponsor the idea with money and thereby help realize the project.
All Kickstarter projects have a financial goal, and once the goal is reached, the project can be declared successful. All Kickstarter projects must include a reward for their investors or so-called “backers”, which in our case have been our products.
MessyWeekend X Kickstarter
MessyWeekend has already funded two projects via Kickstarter. The first time in 2018, when we showed the world our baby and darling, our first collection of sunglasses in Danish design, produced from quality materials and at a price that is fair for everyone who wants all the best in one pair of sunglasses.
Our second Kickstarter campaign launched the following year in February 2019, where we expanded our universe and unveiled the sunglasses' cousin from the cold north - our XE-one ski goggles.
With the help of Kickstarter and the support of the many thousands of backers, MessyWeekend has grown to where we are today, and has made it possible to further develop our products and launch our third Kickstarter project in the fall of 2019.
Our Kickstarter campaign Oct 2019 - what's all the fuss about?
This fall we've gone geeky and really taken to the technical side to develop two new ski lenses that are sure to improve your skiing experience.
We present our brand new ski goggles with either an XE2 lens or an XEP lens.
Our new ski goggles are extra resistant to scratches, have anti-fog and ventilation systems, and a perfect and durable fit throughout the day due to the improved straps.
Our XE2 lens is a high-contrast lens that sharpens your vision of conjunctures and contrasts, while our XEp lens is a photochromic lens that adapts to all conceivable weather conditions.
