The INUIT
INUIT is MessyWeekend's latest product in winter gear, where design and functionality come together in one goggle. INUIT was announced in October 2019 on Kickstarter, and raised half a million in just two weeks. INUIT has all the necessary features you need in one goggle, as well as a modern design including two limited edition stoppers with an 80's twist.
The INUIT with unique XEp technology
Our INUIT ski goggles come with a unique XEp lens, which is a photochromic version of the XE2 lens that comes with our FLOAT ski goggles .
A photochromic lens changes color according to the light conditions, which is an advantage when the weather changes. The XEp lens reacts to the combination of sunlight and UV rays, with photochromic molecules automatically and constantly re-calibrating as the weather and light conditions change.
When the bright sun hits or clouds roll in, the XEp lens will switch to a darker or brighter state in just 25 seconds. Due to the XEp lens's fast-changing transitions, you are guaranteed clear vision all day, every day, and therefore do not need additional lenses.
Furthermore, the XEp lens has an anti-fog system, due to double glazing, which works in the same way as double glazing and prevents condensation and thus fogging on your lens.
INUIT comes with a blue-violet Revo-mirror coating, which is ideal in bright environments, such as snowy landscapes. Revo-mirror coating reduces the chance of being blinded by the sun and snow by filtering white and blue light. The Revo-coating is a NASA-based technology that protects, increases and improves your vision on the slopes.
The XEp lens is made from a patented cast film, which ensures the highest optical quality and thus a uniform tone change as well as resistance to all types of weather.
The cylindrical Inuit delivers a peripheral field of vision, which means an up to 18% wider field of vision compared to our FLOAT goggles.
Last but not least, XE2 has full UV400 (UVA+UVB) protection.
INUIT is tested by experts
INUIT has been tested by the national Danish ski team in the Alps, where Frederik Højgaard shows how the photochromic lens works:
Ski goggles with both photochromic and Revo-mirrored lenses are a very unique combination and are not often seen, if at all, in the ski goggle market. Looking for photochromic quality in a pair of ski goggles, you will often find these up to 60% more expensive than at MessyWeekend. Head to Kickstarter here to become the proud owner of a pair of photochromic INUIT ski goggles.
Flexible and durable frame
Our Inuit model is made from the lightweight material TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane), which is both extremely flexible, durable and ensures a great fit for all faces and helmets.
Like our FLOAT model, INUIT has a three-layer foam technology that ensures good airflow, prevents fogging and gives you optimal comfort all day long.
When you buy INUIT ski goggles you can choose straps in either black or white. The straps are equipped with triple silicone lines, so that your ski goggles stay where they are all day long, and to create a fashionable look, we have used a matte silicone for our MW logos. With just two clicks, you can easily replace the straps and change the look of your goggles.
As a tribute to INUIT and our hero and idol Glen Plake - the freestyle god above them all - we have produced some limited edition straps where you may recognize the same 80s vibe as in our Indiegogo campaign here .
