The FLOAT
With the launch of our latest addition, The INUIT, and two new lens technologies, we are also letting go of some of the old. This does not mean that our range is getting smaller, but simply that our previous ski goggles with XE-one lenses are being upgraded with our latest XE2 lenses. The model name is changing from 'XE-One' to 'The FLOAT' to give our upgrade its own identity.
Same model new XE2 technology
The FLOAT is newly equipped with our latest XE2 lens, which is an improved version of the XE1 lens. The XE2 lens has two layers made of premium optical quality polycarbonate, making the XE2 thin, lightweight and virtually unbreakable.
The XE2 lens is equipped with a high-contrast lens, specially developed for skiing and mountain weather conditions. We have added contrast-enhancing dyes to fine-tune the light spectrum, thereby increasing color contrast and reducing glare from sun and snow. The violet lens provides improved color recognition, and filters out white and blue light, to make contrasts and contours appear clearer. This is an advantage when you need to get an overview of the shape of the ski slope and the contours of the snow, and allows you to see and avoid any bumps and snowdrifts when skiing.
The high-contrast lens helps you see more clearly in hazy and foggy conditions, reducing eye strain and increasing comfort in otherwise hazy conditions. When hurtling down the slopes at high speed, the high-contrast lens will help you maneuver through, around and over bumps and jumps in the road that the naked eye would normally miss.
On the inside of the XE2 lens, we have used an anti-fog coating and ventilation system that provides optimal prevention against fogging throughout the day.
On the outside, we've added nano-coating to make the lens scratch-resistant, and added a clear super-hydrophobic and water-repellent coating that makes the XE2 easy to clean.
You can choose The FLOAT with either green (R evo-mirror-coated) or silver (mirrored), where we use the same coating that NASA uses to protect their astronauts from harmful UV light. Our revo-mirror-coating filters out harmful UV light, allowing your eyes to only be exposed to the light that is beneficial for your vision on the slopes.
The Revo coating is a polarization technology that protects you 100% against glare from direct light and reflections from, for example, water, snow and mirages on the roads. The Revo coating's color sorting also enhances contrast for the seeing eye by eliminating glare and sharp reflections.
Last but not least, XE2 has full UV400 protection (UVA+UVB), as well as protection against harmful blue light.
Easy and interchangeable look in the best quality
Perhaps you are the happy owner of our previous XE-One ski goggles, and already know the comfort and immovability of the ski goggles on the helmet, which we have of course not removed. The frame is made of the flexible quality material called 'thermoplastic polyurethane', which makes The FLOAT super durable and easy to wear.
In addition, three layers of soft foam have been added to the inside of the frame, which protects your beautiful face from the cold wind and makes The FLOAT comfortable to wear for a whole day in the snow.
The straps come in a new design, in black and white, with anti-slip in the form of three silicone lines, which prevent The FLOAT from slipping or slipping, but stay where you want them.
Additionally, we have produced two limited edition pro straps inspired by our hero and icon, Glen Plake - the freestyle god of them all, where you may recognize the 80s vibe of the straps, from our Kickstarter campaign here . The straps can be easily replaced with just two clicks.
Extra gear for your ski trip
On cloudy days and in snowy weather, it is even more important to have the equipment in order to be able to see clearly. That is why, together with your FLOAT ski goggles, you get an extra set of overcast lenses in yellow. The yellow overcast lens gives you better transparency and helps you see clearly when the weather is not.
Produced and tested by experts
The FLOAT has been tested in collaboration with MessyWeekend and professional freestyle skiers in the Alps.
Our manufacturer already produces ski goggles for two of the world's top five ski goggle brands, and has a long history of manufacturing equipment used by Olympic athletes, and therefore focuses on quality, durability and fit, which characterizes 'The FLOAT.'
